Advanx Stage 2 is known as Advanx East and was the second phase of the Advanx Master Plan. It completes the significant new public space fronting McLachlan Avenue. The site is activated by retail use and forms part of the pedestrian through-site link between the streets.
There is ground floor retail, with 130 apartments above, ranging from studio to large three bedroom penthouses. The design features significant communal rooftop gardens for the residential community.
A major public art piece that incorporates vertical planted walls conceals the elevated carpark. The design decision to locate the carpark at the exposed, north end of the site assisted in protecting the dwellings from external acoustic and thermal loads, promoted sustainability by avoiding excavation, and created a significant gateway statement to the start of the central Sydney LGA.
