Grids and networks are ways of organising things that need to communicate. The school links with its educational neighbour, Macquarie University, and with the surrounding street grid, which bisect the university grid at an angle.

An interior ‘street’ joins and distinguishes the school’s component elements, linking secondary routes, staircases and informal meeting places. Their intersection is celebrated in a proscenium which arches over the street; a conscious symbol of theatre.
