Sustainability

DJRD acknowledge the need to decarbonise our built environment and move towards a more sustainable practice. We have developed our Sustainability Action Plan to achieve this and to be part of a movement to create a more regenerative future.

Our journey to creating our Sustainability Action Plan has been a practice-wide endeavour and has resulted in the development of our Design and Practice Framework. Our framework will allow us to set out what is important to us in our practice and to formulate goals and a path forward.

Our framework has taken the form of a series of design and practice elements that are inspired by the Living Building Challenge ‘petals’. Our design elements are Healthy Buildings, Equity, Materials, Beauty + Biophilia, Place, Energy and Water and these are supported by our practice elements; Education, Operations, Planning and Architectural Services.
