Shaping Spaces, Inspiring Lives
Australian Film Television and Radio School, 1989
DJRD is an independent architecture firm established in 1982 to undertake the Australian Film Television and Radio school project. Under Robin Dyke’s leadership the practice has since gained an exceptional national and international reputation for good design and has received many awards for high quality architecture based on our ability to synthesise the demands of functional and creative design, client needs, sustainability and budget.
Today the firm is led by three owner directors, Robin Dyke, Andrew Hipwell & Daniel Beekwilder. With a diverse team of progressive designers DJRD continues to be a leading architecture firm known for its design excellence and client focus, working often for return clients.
Our Story
Sydney Conservatorium of Music, 2001
DJRD is an award winning, interdisciplinary design studio in Sydney. At the heart of DJRD Architects lies a clear purpose: to shape spaces and inspire lives.
Our process is one of leadership where we work constructively with our clients and other project stakeholders to reveal, explore, identify and express their diverse project objectives, while balancing them with community interest and statutory obligations. Rather than producing projects in a particular ‘style’, each project generates its own identity based on site conditions, client brief, budget, sustainability, environmental conditions and consultations with community and Place on Country.
DJRD works across diverse sectors including multi- residential, education, research, sports and leisure, healthcare, retail, interior design and workplace. We are keen to build on the substantial body of high quality work developed by our dedicated team over the last 40 years.
