DJRD+MPH were then engaged to design the new Origin Adelaide Workplace in an incredibly short time frame of 3 months for design and documentation of a 9000m2 tenancy.

The concept is based around a tree, with a central plywood clad trunk which unifies the floor plates as a consistent point of reference and contains meeting, quiet and utility rooms located in the centre of each typical floor. The trunk introduces nature into the workplace through the use of natural materials. At Level 6 which is a shared visitor floor, the timber ‘bark’ of the trunk is stripped back revealing the ‘heartwood’ social central hub of the workplace - a fully glazed meeting room which gives visitors the opportunity to view into the working tenancy, alongside other meeting and training areas and a large breakout space.
